Teagan Olivia King she/her) grew up in Michigan’s wild Upper Peninsula, but traded in the stormy shores of Lake Superior for the wind-beaten sandbars of Lake Huron. She holds a degree in creative writing from Northern Michigan University and used that to pursue her love of Shakespeare, acting and directing in her local theatre, and studying the art of dramaturgy. Short stories of Teagan’s can be found in anthologies from Phantom House Press, Quill and Crow Publishing, Shortwave Publishing, Black Spot Books, and Eerie River Publishing and literary journals Diet Milk Magazine and Into the Teeth of the Wind. Her short story, “All Our Fertile Bones” was published in an anthology that went on to be placed on the reading list for the Bram Stoker award in 2023.

Having been diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder and PTSD for most of her life, Teagan is passionate about telling stories of resilience. Stories of characters who discover the power of their own emotions, and use that power to overcome.

When not writing, Teagan can be found wandering the woods or howling at the moon. She lives in northern Michigan at the end of a dead end track with her beloved, a rescue pup named Remus, a black cat named Chester, who may or may not harbor the soul of some long-dead deity, and probably some ghosts.

Teagan is an active writer in the HWA. Her first full-length horror adult novel, SPIT BACK THE BONES, comes out on September 23rd, 2025. Her romantasy debut, BITTERBLOOM, comes out March 10th, 2026.
